Must-Have Recipes from Better Homes and Gardens App Reviews

You have to pay for most of the content then you have to pay every day by watching the ads. They need to either charge for the app or be ad. supported. Not both.

The first recipe I wanted I had to pay $.99 for. Thats not free. I just deleted it not gonna pay for a recipe when the app says "free"

Bias alert - my mother worked at BH&G for years and I have some insight into how rigorously the recipes are tested so that anyone can be successful with relatively simple instructions. You can always count on the recipes working. Over the years I have watched the digital products evolve. They were pretty bad in the beginning; unstable and hard to use. But this ap is stable, easy to use, has lots of great pictures, and has some pretty interesting recipes. I assume it will continue to get better in the future. I like using it now. I agree that the revenue model is unusual. Buying some recipes and getting hit with questionnaires and ads at the same time is different. My opinion is not settled on if it is tolerable or irritating (see bias comment above). Here is what I do know, it takes a lot of money to continually develop interesting and easy to use recipes and take professional pictures and keep going as a business for years and years. I want to always be able to get BH&G recipes so maybe I am willing to have a little patience in order to see the ap improve and see many more recipes added (free and purchased).

There are way to many pop up ads that are difficult to close with my fat fingers. Either make the app 100% free but ad supported or charge for it and loose the ads. Not both.

Works great I have a iPod 4th generation. I made zukini bread with this.

Running on brand new, current gen iPad. Sharing and favorite links dont work. The app constantly freezes while scrolling, and some recipes never open. App looks nice but very unstable and unusable in current state.

This has become unusable since the latest update.q. The app crashes when trying to use menus searching or filters. It was great before and I bought content that now I cannot see. Is there a way to roll back?

Crashes every time I try to access recipes. Recipes that Ive paid to access.

Unfortunately I failed to read the reviews before getting this app and buying all the non included recipes. Fails to save. Crashes constantly. Better Homes and Gardens should change their name to Mediocre At Best. Dont waste your time.

Cant select recipes on right 1/3 of screen. Portrait mode displays incorrectly.

I love this app the recipes are amazing and it even has a grocery list organizer.

Here are the issues that prevent me from using what is, when functioning, a pretty cool application: - This particular version crashes until its reinstalled when adding an item to your favorites. Once the crash occurs (unpredictably) it will continue to crash when adding items to your favorites. - The help link in the app takes you to a page that looks like a blog. The help link on that page takes you to a page that is not a support page. - When an image does not load, it will never load until as stated above the application is reinstalled. I like to see the pictures.

Better then the crock pot app this is free and the shopping list is the best feature

It was a great app until the 1-5-2015 update, now it crashes and functions such as shopping list and menu buttons do not work on my iPad. I paid some money to have extra recipes so I am not happy about this.

I love that the app gives nutritional facts but I absolutely hate that it constantly crashes. The crashing makes it impossible to use unless you are accessing something off the opening screen. This needs to be fixed.

Would like the app if it worked. Half the time Id hit a recipe and it wouldnt acknowledge my click, it wouldnt let me swipe between recipes unless it felt like it and if I turned my tablet it got so messed up I couldnt read the recipe any more.
